As a keen mountaineer and paraglider Rowena is constantly fascinated and inspired by the forms and textures found in the natural world.

“I love textures! They are everywhere and it’s impossible to stop them creeping into my work. They are both visual and tactile …. and even when a texture is beyond my reach, as I dangle on a rope or float above the patchwork landscape, I still close my eyes, if only for a moment, and imagine what it would feel like to touch or caress ….”
